Lieutenant General Duane D. Thiessen, the commanding general of U.S. Marine Corps Forces Pacific, illustrates a point to more than 150 Marines and sailors during a town hall meeting at the base theatre here, May 15. Thiessen met with service members across the base to discuss important issues that will affect the future of the Corps. MARFORPAC’s top commander highlighted the fundamentals of professionalism and reminded noncommissioned officers, staff NCOs and officers to be mindful of their conduct and to set the example for others. Thiessen also took time to talk about the progress in Afghanistan and recognize the Marines for their hard work and contributions in the war on terrorism. Thiessen’s visit to Camp Pendleton explored the Marine Corps’ evolving role in the Pacific and allowed him to meet with key commanders.
