PORTSMOUTH, Va. (July 12, 2019) – Culinary Specialist 3rd Class Joshua Walters and Petty Officer 2nd Class Ascher Oxendine clean off sediments off of an oyster pod. Cleaning the pods helps with water flow through the pods for the oysters to filter. The importance of maintaining the oyster pods is so the oysters are cleaning at optimal amounts.
