A U.S. Air Force honor guard is standing at attention in two staggered rows on a well-maintained grass field. The personnel are dressed in formal service dress uniforms with white gloves, and several are holding ceremonial rifles. The setting appears to be a tropical or subtropical military installation, suggested by the palm trees and lush vegetation in the background.

Airmen, their families and veterans gathered at the Atterbury Circle flagpole, the site of the same flagpole that stood Dec. 7, 1941. The ceremony was held to honor the survivors of the attacks and remember the 238 Army Air Corps airmen who died defending Hickam Field.
