A group of elderly veterans, likely Pearl Harbor survivors, are seated at what appears to be a memorial ceremony. They are wearing commemorative caps, military medals, and patriotic red, white, and blue leis. The outdoor setting features palm trees, suggesting a warm-climate location such as Hawaii or Florida.

U.S. Army Air Corps veteran Louis Roffman waits for the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam remembrance ceremony to begin Dec. 7, 2011, at JBPHH. Airmen, their families and veterans gathered at Atterbury Circle, the site of the same flagpole that stood during the Japanese attack Dec. 7, 1941. The ceremony was held to honor the survivors of the attacks and remember the 238 Army Air Corps airmen who died defending Hickam Field.
