U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. April Vogel, the assistant adjutant general of the Maryland National Guard, tours the facilities of the Bosnia and Herzegovina armed forces’ Travnik Training Center in Travnik, Bosnia, Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018. Vogel, along with U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Janeen Birckhead, the Maryland Guard’s assistant adjutant general for Army, meet with key staff at the center and also speak to students about the working relationship between officers noncommissioned officers. The Maryland Guard and the Bosnian armed forces are celebrating 15 years of partnership as part of the U.S. Department of Defense’s State Partnership Program, which pairs up National Guard elements with partner nations worldwide.
