U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. April Vogel, the Maryland National Guard’s assistant adjutant general for Air, meets instructors and staff members of the Bosnia and Herzegovina armed forces’ Travnik Training Center in Travnik, Bosnia, Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018. Vogel, along with U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Janeen Birckhead, the Maryland Guard’s assistant adjutant general for Army, met with key staff at the center and also spoke to students on the working relationship between officers noncommissioned officers. The Maryland Guard and the Bosnian armed forces are celebrating 15 years of partnership as part of the U.S. Department of Defense’s State Partnership Program, which pairs up National Guard elements with partner nations worldwide.
