Birckhead, along with U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. April Vogel, the Maryland Guard’s assistant adjutant general for Air, met with key staff at the center and also spoke on the how the roles of the commissioned and noncommissioned officer together form the command team, as well as ways to strengthen that tie, and also met with key staff at the center. The Maryland Guard and the Bosnian armed forces are celebrating 15 years of partnership as part of the U.S. Department of Defense’s State Partnership Program, which pairs up National Guard elements with partner nations worldwide.
