The Agency for Civil Protection runs demining operations and responds to large-scale disasters and emergencies throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. Meeting with Kovač was one of several stops for Birckhead and Vogel while in Bosnia as part of events commemorating the 15-year partnership between the Maryland Guard and the Bosnian armed forces as part of the U.S. Department of Defense’s State Partnership Program, which pairs up National Guard elements with partner nations worldwide.
