PACIFIC OCEAN- (April 25, 2018) Mr. Matt Shipley, Deputy Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Force Readiness, along with Sailors assigned to Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2) and Marines assigned to 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) participate in a foreign object debris walkdown on the flight deck during Essex Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and MEU exercise (ARGMEUEX). ARGMEUEX enhances joint integration, lethality and collective capabilities of the Navy-Marine Corps team through joint planning and execution of challenging and realistic training scenarios.
