    180122-N-RD713-029 SASEBO, Japan (Jan. 22, 2018) Damage Controlman 2nd Class Chance Riesing, from Warrenton, Missouri, assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), and John Kelley, from San Diego, a member of the TYCOM Material Inspection Team, inspect Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) bottles in the ship’s hangar bay as part of a Naval Surface Forces-led two-day Readiness for Sea Assessment. The assessment assesses crew proficiency in propulsion, navigation and watches team proficiency, and certifies a ship as deployment ready. Bonhomme Richard, forward-deployed to Sasebo, Japan, is serving forward to provide a rapid-response capability in the event of a regional contingency or natural disaster.
