180121-N-XN177-207 YOKOSUKA, Japan – Sailors prepare to catch mooring lines from the U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19) as it sits pier side at Fleet Activities (FLEACT) Yokosuka after leaving dry dock. Blue Ridge is in an extensive maintenance period in order to modernize the ship to continue to serve as a robust communications platform in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations. FLEACT Yokosuka provides, maintains, and operates base facilities and services in support of 7th Fleet’s forward-deployed naval forces, 71 tenant commands, and 27,000 military and civilian personnel.
