171021-N-PM250-0589 ATLANTIC OCEAN (Oct. 21, 2017) Capt. Josh Roughton, a marine attached to the 45 Commando Royal Marines, prepares to depart from landing craft air cushion (LCAC) 54 in the well deck of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Gunston Hall (LSD-44). LCAC 54 and 45 Commando Royal Marines are on board Gunston Hall in support of exercise Bold Alligator 2017 (#BA17). Improving Navy-Marine Corps amphibious core competencies along with coalition, North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Allied and partner nations is a necessary investment in the current and future readiness of our forces.
