170814-N-GP724-158 PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug. 14, 2017) Sailors participate in a fueling at sea with the guided-missile destroyer USS Higgins (DDG 76) in the aft sponson aboard the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71). Theodore Roosevelt and Higgins are underway conducting a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX) with the Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group (TRCSG) in preparation for an upcoming deployment. COMPTUEX tests a carrier strike group’s mission-readiness and ability to perform as an integrated unit through simulated real-world scenarios.
