U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Aug. 5, 2017) Marine Brig. Gen. Francis L. Donovan, right, commander of Task Force 51 and 5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade, asks questions during a tour of the engineering office aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Carter Hall (LSD 50). Donovan spent the afternoon touring the ship and meeting with the crew. Carter Hall is part of the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group, which is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners and preserve the freedom of navigation and commerce in the region.
