RED SEA (Nov. 30, 2016) Petty Officer 2nd Class Devin Fernandes, from Oxford, N.J., wipes down a C-2A Greyhound assigned to the Rawhides of Fleet Logistics Support Squadron (VRC) 40 in the hangar bay of the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) (Ike). Fernandes serves as a naval air crewman (mechanical) and helps man and operate the aircraft's mechanical systems during flight operations. Ike and its carrier strike group are deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
