ARABIAN GULF (Oct. 14, 2016) Petty Officer 3rd Class Cody Hartness checks the air duct of an F/A-18F Super Hornet assigned to the Fighting Swordsmen of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 32 on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69). Hartness serves as an aviation ordnanceman aboard the ship and is responsible for pre-flight inspections of aircraft on the ship. The ship and its Carrier Strike Group are deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
