NAVAL BASE KITSAP-BREMERTON, Wash. (July 25, 2016) – Electrician's Mate(Nuclear) 3rd Class Brenden M. Blanscet receives a Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal from Adm. Bill Moran, Vice Chief of Naval Operations, on the flight deck of USS Nimitz (CVN 68) for responding to an electrical shock victim on the pier. Blanscet assisted in moving the victim clear of a hazardous area, as well as assisting emergency medical responders to the scene, while administering first aid. Nimitz is currently undergoing an extended planned incremental maintenance availability at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility where the ship is receiving scheduled maintenance and upgrades.
