A recruit of Alpha Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, takes cover behind an obstacle during the Bayonet Assault Course I event at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Feb. 10. Recruits learn to take cover behind obstacles to simulate working with a fire team during combat situations. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Alpha Company is scheduled to graduate April 22.
