Soldiers serving at Contingency Operating Base Adder, Iraq, meet and pose with U.S. Reps. Patrick Murphy, D-Pa., Joe Wilson, R-S.C., Gus Bilirakis, R-Fla., and Ben Ray Lujan, D-N.M., Aug. 9. Many of these Soldiers are members of the National Guard from the congressmen's districts. The delegation received briefings on the 4th Brigade, 1st Armored Division's "advise and assist" mission, toured a CERP-funded civilian training complex and met with U.S. and Iraqi security force leaders at Camp Dhi Qar, an Iraqi base near Nasiriyah. The Highlander Brigade, the first unit to serve in an "advisory and assistance" role, is deployed out of Fort Bliss, Texas, and operates in Dhi Qar, Maysan and Muthanna provinces in southern Iraq.
