Rep. Joe Wilson meets constituents from the 4th Brigade, 1st Armored Division "Highlander" during a trip to Iraq, Aug. 9. The South Carolina representative received briefing on the brigade's advise and assist mission, toured CERP funded civilian training complex and met with U.S. and Iraqi security force leaders at Camp Dhi Qar, an Iraqi base near Nasiriyah. The Highlander Brigade, the first unit to serve in an "advisory and assistance" role, is deployed out of Fort Bliss, Texas, and operates in Dhi Qar, Maysan and Muthanna provinces in southern Iraq.
