Rep. Ben Ray Lujan meets 1st Lt. Christina McMillan, from Edgewood, N.M., assigned to with 121st Brigade Support Battalion, Aug. 9. McMillan was selected to meet with Lujan due to her outstanding performance in Iraq. The New Mexico representative received briefings on the brigade's advise and assist mission, toured CERP funded civilian training complex and met with U.S. and Iraqi security force leaders at Camp Dhi Qar, an Iraqi base near Nasiriyah. The Highlander Brigade, the first unit to serve in an "advisory and assistance" role, is deployed out of Fort Bliss, Texas, and operates in Dhi Qar, Maysan and Muthanna provinces in southern Iraq.
