A U.S. Army soldier in full ACU (Army Combat Uniform) with tactical gear and rucksack is crouched over a young man lying on the floor of a bare room with light green walls. The young man appears to be a casualty or simulated casualty, with his hands clasped and eyes closed, wearing civilian-style clothing with his shirt partially raised. This appears to be a combat casualty care scenario, possibly a training exercise or an actual field medical assessment.

Army Pfc. Charles E. Jacobo, an Anaheim, California, native serving as a health care specialist in Company B, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade applies first aid to a Soldier role-playing as a wounded insurgent during a night raid training mission held Sept. 6 at an abandoned Soviet era prison in Rummu, Estonia. The raid was part of Steadfast Javelin II, a NATO exercise involving more than 2,000 troops from nine nations conducting various training missions across Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland. The exercise focuses on increasing interoperability and synchronizing complex operations between allied air and ground forces through airborne and air assault missions.
