M1A2 Abrams tanks from Company C, 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, move into position for a joint training exercise at Adazi Training Area, Latvia on Nov. 13, 2014. The exercise included U.S. engineers preparing fighting positions for Norwegian infantry as well as U.S. armor and Norwegian infantry conducting live-fire exercises. These activities are part of the U.S. Army Europe-led Operation Atlantic Resolve land force assurance training exercise taking place across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland to enhance multinational interoperability, strengthen relationships among allied militaries, contribute to regional stability and demonstrate U.S. commitment to NATO.
