A Norwegian infantryman with 2nd platoon, Mek 3 Company, Telemark Battalion, surveys his field of fire during a joint live fire training exercise at Adazi Training Area, Latvia on November 13, 2014. The exercise included U.S. engineers preparing fighting positions for Norwegian infantry as well as U.S. armor and Norwegian infantry conducting live-fire exercises. These activities are part of the U.S. Army Europe-led Operation Atlantic Resolve land force assurance training exercise taking place across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland to enhance multinational interoperability, strengthen relationships among allied militaries, contribute to regional stability and demonstrate U.S. commitment to NATO.
