Norwegian Sgt. Raymond Evardsen, an infantryman with Mek 3 Company, Telemark Battalion, Task Force Viking, orients himself as he prepares a fighting position during a joint training exercise at Adazi Training Area, Latvia, on Nov. 13, 2014. The exercise included U.S. engineers preparing fighting positions for Norwegian infantry as well as U.S. armor and Norwegian infantry conducting live-fire exercises. These activities are part of the U.S. Army Europe-led Operation Atlantic Resolve land force assurance training exercise taking place across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland to enhance multinational interoperability, strengthen relationships among allied militaries, contribute to regional stability and demonstrate U.S. commitment to NATO.
