An M1A2 Abrams tank from Company C, 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, fires the 120mm main gun during a joint live fire training exercise at Adazi Training Area, Latvia, on Nov. 13, 2014. The exercise was a live fire event featuring U.S. and Norwegian armor, engineers and infantry. These activities are part of the U.S. Army Europe-led Operation Atlantic Resolve land force assurance training exercise taking place across Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland to enhance multinational interoperability, strengthen relationships among allied militaries, contribute to regional stability and demonstrate U.S. commitment to NATO.
