A nighttime military event featuring a large banner displaying an Airborne unit insignia with a sword and lightning bolt on a green shield. Several soldiers in camouflage uniforms are gathered near the banner, with bicycles visible in the foreground area. A silhouetted figure in the foreground observes the scene.

Paratroopers pass the time as they wait for the doors to open during the 16th Annual Randy Oler Operation Toy Drop lottery, Dec. 6, at Pope Field, N.C. There were more than 500 parachutes up for the lottery. He will join 4,000 other paratroopers participating in the operation over the next few days. Hosted by the U.S. Army Civil Affairs & Psychological Operations Command (Airborne), Operation Toy Drop is the largest combined airborne operation in the world with nine countries participating this year. The donated toys will be distributed to children's homes and social service in the local community. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt. Sharilyn Wells/USACAPOC(A) PAO)
