Guest sit down at the reception at the Gallier Hall here, April 18, 2012, during the mayoral welcome of the Navy and foreign ships in New Orleans. New Orleans will serve as the inaugural city in a three-year national celebration commemorating the War of 1812 and the Star-Spangled Banner. The Marine Corps' role in this event reinforces its naval character, showcases the Navy-Marine Corps team and highlights the military's enduring relationship with the city of New Orleans.
