War of 1812: New Orleans

Capt. Faith Zimmerman, an assistant logistics officer with the 26th Marine Expeditionary unit, and Sgt. Scott J. Hambrick, a squad leader in Company C, 1st Battalion, 6th Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, scrape old paint of handrails so new paint can be applied at the Raintree House in New Orleans, April 18, 2012. The 26th MEU is providing support to the commemoration of the Battle of New Orleans. Starting through April and continuing through 2015, the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard will commemorate the Bicentennial of the War of 1812 and the Star Spangled Banner. The War of 1812 celebration will commemorate the rich Naval history and showcase the capabilities of today's Navy-Marine Corps team. (Official Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Scott L. Tomazycki)
