Elizabeth Niemyer, director of Navy Nurse Corps and deputy chief of Wounded, Ill and Injured, speaks about the role of Navy medicine in maritime strategy, humanitarian efforts, battlefield medicine and New Orleans Navy Week with the faculty of Delgado Community College's nursing program. The event took place during New Orleans Navy Week, one of 15 Navy weeks planned across America for 2012. Navy weeks are designed to show the investment Americans have made in their Navy and increase awareness in cities that do not have a significant Navy presence.
