Kentucky First Lady and Adjutant General Visit ChalleNGe Academy

FORT KNOX, Ky. - Kentucky First Lady Britainy Beshear and the Kentucky Adjutant General, Brig. Gen. Haldane Lamberton, met with students and faculty from the Bluegrass ChalleNGe Academy (BCA) at Fort Knox, on April 23, 2021.
The mission of the BCA is to intervene and reclaim the lives of at-risk youth to produce program graduates with the values, skills, education, and self-discipline necessary to excel as adults.
Beshear and Lamberton received a tour of the academy and addressed students and faculty while offering encouragement and congratulations on their continued successes.
As a steppingstone toward success for at-risk youth in Kentucky, the BCA utilizes a military-minded approach to instill discipline, core values, and professionalism among its students.
They provide a 22-week self-development program, which serves as the premier residential alternative education provider in Kentucky. Their curriculum produces academically and socially competitive young adults who can achieve goals and dreams they might not have thought possible.
The BCA maintains an 80% success rate of its students who further their education or gain meaningful employment within one year after graduation.
As a state-funded alternative to traditional education, the BCA continues to receive support from the First Lady and the Kentucky National Guard to ensure all students in Kentucky have access to quality education and gain the necessary skills to succeed in the future.
