MOUNTAIN HOME AIR FORCE BASE, Idaho - Several 366th Logistics Readiness Squadron members laced up their boots and came into work in a deployment state of mind for an exercise Feb. 28, 2017, at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho.

For the second time in Air Combat Command history, a base wide exercise was carried out on a smaller scale with each squadron doing their own individual scenario training.

"Before when we did exercises it was the whole base, it was scenarios that didn't pertain to that particular squadron," said Master Sgt. Sharonda Rockins, 366th LRS operations compliance superintendent. "Now our commander can say specifically, I want to do this, I want to see how ready my squadron is for this and we're able to execute that to let him know how we're doing."

For the 366th LRS, the day's training included getting into chemical gear and doing sweeps of certain areas for contamination of any kind.
Those who stand to gain the most from these simulated incidents are younger airmen who have never experienced anything like this before.

"The job that I would be doing today is still being done by the other airmen, while we can focus on the exercise at hand," said A1C Ryan Williams, 366th LRS traffic management. "Both missions are still being completed at the same time."

While only a few members of their squadron participated in this particular exercise, the rest will be trained in the future in the same manner.

It's great because we're able to keep the mission going," said Rockins. "People are still able to do their daily jobs and we're still able to get some of the training done that we need."
