    NAVAL AIR FACILITY ATSUGI, Japan (Aug. 20, 2026) Capt. Nicolas Leclerc (left), Naval Air Facility (NAF) Atsugi outgoing commanding officer, salutes Capt. Teague Suarez (middle), deputy commander and chief of staff U.S. Forces Japan, alongside Capt. Jeff Schwab (right), prospective commanding officer of NAF Atsugi, during the NAF Atsugi 35th Change of Command ceremony held onboard the installation Aug. 20. During the ceremony, Schwab relieved Leclerc as the Naval Air Facility Atsugi commanding officer. NAF Atsugi supports the combat readiness of Commander, Fleet Air Western Pacific, Commander, Carrier Air Wing FIVE (CVW) 5, Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 51 and 23 other tenant commands, and provides logistic support, coordination, and services to units assigned to the Western Pacific.
