A Cinder vertical take-off and landing unmanned aircraft system launches from a modular containerized vertical launch system during a multi-day Special User Demonstration at Orote Airfield on Naval Station Guam, June 22, 2026. The 3d Multi-Domain Effects Battalion, 3d Multi-Domain Task Force, utilized the runway-independent platform to exercise and experiment with Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control concepts, which serve as a critical enabler for multi-domain capabilities.
This experimentation was conducted in support of Valiant Shield 2026. Exercises like Valiant Shield allow Pacific Command Joint Forces the opportunity to integrate forces from all branches of service and with our allies to conduct precise, lethal, and overwhelming multi-axis, multi-domain effects that demonstrate the strength and versatility of the joint force and our commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific.
