Austin Gaudette (left), 807th Theater Medical Command, perform a flag-folding ceremony using one of the last flags to fly at Fort Douglas, Utah, Aug. 8, 2026. Lt. Gen. Robert Harter, chief of the U.S. Army Reserve, presented the flag to Taylor Randall, president of the University of Utah, during a Fort Douglas closing ceremony in which the final 50 acres of the fort were transferred to the university. The transfer was part of a partnership among the U.S. Army Reserve, the University of Utah, the state of Utah and the Utah National Guard that resulted in a new state-of-the-art U.S. Army Reserve facility at Camp Williams, Utah.
