Taylor Randall (center), president of the University of Utah, receives a shadow box commemorating the partnership and transfer of Fort Douglas, Utah, to the University of Utah during a closing ceremony on Aug. 8, 2026, in which the final 50 acres of the fort were transferred to the university. The transfer was part of a partnership among the U.S. Army Reserve, the University of Utah, the state of Utah and the Utah National Guard that resulted in a new state-of-the-art U.S. Army Reserve facility at Camp Williams, Utah.
