Soldiers of the U.S. Army Reserve's 484th Army Band and the Utah National Guard's 23rd Army Band join the University of Utah Marching Band during a closing ceremony at Fort Douglas, on Aug. 8, 2026, in which the final 50 acres of the fort were transferred to the university. The transfer was part of a partnership among the U.S. Army Reserve, the University of Utah, the state of Utah and the Utah National Guard that resulted in a new state-of-the-art U.S. Army Reserve facility at Camp Williams, Utah.
