Lt. Gen. Robert Harter (second from left), chief of the U.S. Army Reserve, presents a folded American flag, one of the last flags to fly at Fort Douglas, Utah, to Taylor Randall (second from right), president of the University of Utah, during a Fort Douglas closing ceremony on Aug. 8, 2026, in which the final 50 acres of the fort were transferred to the university. The transfer was part of a partnership among the U.S. Army Reserve, the University of Utah, the state of Utah and the Utah National Guard that resulted in a new state-of-the-art U.S. Army Reserve facility at Camp Williams, Utah.
