NANTUCKET, Mass. — Sailors assigned to the Freedom-variant littoral combat ship USS Nantucket (LCS 27) participate in a beach cleanup on Nantucket, Massachusetts, Aug. 8, 2026. The six Sailors traveled from USS Nantucket’s homeport of Mayport, Florida, to the island for a namesake visit. The beach cleanup provided the Sailors an opportunity to give back to their ship’s namesake community while strengthening the enduring relationship between USS Nantucket and the island for which the ship is named.
