NANTUCKET, Mass. — Sailors assigned to the Freedom-variant littoral combat ship USS Nantucket (LCS 27) participate in a beach cleanup on Nantucket, Massachusetts, Aug. 8, 2026. Six USS Nantucket Sailors traveled from the ship’s homeport of Mayport, Florida, to Nantucket for a namesake visit. The cleanup provided the Sailors an opportunity to give back to the ship’s namesake community while strengthening the enduring relationship between USS Nantucket and the island for which the ship is named.
