NANTUCKET, Mass. — Ambassador Kenneth J. Braithwaite (left), 77th Secretary of the Navy, meets with Command Senior Chief Timothy R. Tyson (right), Command Senior Enlisted Leader of the Freedom-variant littoral combat ship USS Nantucket (LCS 27), at the Great Harbor Yacht Club in Nantucket, Massachusetts, Aug. 7, 2026. Tyson was among six USS Nantucket Sailors who traveled from the ship’s homeport of Mayport, Florida, to Nantucket for a namesake visit. The visit provided an opportunity for the Sailors to engage with the local community and strengthen the enduring relationship between USS Nantucket and the island for which the ship is named.
