Cody Doran, a CH-47 Chinook helicopter repairer and crew chief, with Task Force Iron Eagle, assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border in support Operation Ardent Vanguard, observes an old telecommunication network system (TCNS) during a sling load operation in Big Bend Sector, Texas, July 2, 2026. Doran, along with the other crew members, are supporting the U.S. Border Patrol by replacing old TCNS from austere environments. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
