A U.S. Army CH-47 Chinook helicopter, with Task Force Iron Eagle assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border, hovers over a telecommunication network system (TCNS) during Operation Muleskinner Trailblazer III in Big Bend Sector, Texas, June 30, 2026. Soldiers prepared the sling load and assisted in installing a TCNS in a remote area, providing critical network capabilities in rugged terrain inaccessible to U.S. Border Patrol vehicles in support of Operation Ardent Vanguard. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
