A U.S. Army CH-47 Chinook helicopter, with 3rd Battalion, 501st Aviation Regiment, Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Armored Division, Joint Task Force-Southern Border in support of Operation Ardent Vanguard, sling loads a telecommunication network system (TCNS) during Operation Muleskinner Trailblazer III in Big Bend Sector, Texas, July 2, 2026. The crew partnered with U.S. Border Patrol to transport and replace the heavy TCNS in an austere environment. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
