A construction rig mixes bentonite slurry into the existing levee during work at Tenmile Slough, Reach 30 Left Bank (TS30L) as part of the Lower San Joaquin River Project in Stockton, California on June 26, 2026. The bentonite slurry is used to construct a cut-off wall within the levee, helping reduce seepage and improve flood risk management.

The Tenmile Slough, Reach 30 Left Bank (TS30L) portion of the Lower San Joaquin River project includes strengthening approximately 5,900 feet of levee through a fix-in-place design that features a cut-off wall, levee geometry improvements, and waterside erosion protection. Construction is expected to be completed November 2026, helping reduce flood risk for surrounding communities.
