MAKEMO, French Polynesia-- Col. Phillip Smith, commander of 322nd Civil Affairs Brigade, tests desalinated water processed by a non-governmental aid organization, the Order of Malta, during Marara 26 on June 9, 2026. Marara 26 is a French-led multinational exercise in French Polynesia that enhances interoperability and strengthens humanitarian assistance and disaster response capabilities among Indo-Pacific allies and partners.
