U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to the South Carolina National Guard participate in the Army Fitness Test during the Region III Best Warrior Competition at the North Carolina National Guard’s Camp Butner Training Center in Stem, North Carolina, April 26, 2026. The BWC is a multi-day event organized in state, regional and national phases that promotes excellence and resiliency in the National Guard. The 2026 regional phase of the BWC is held from April 26 to May 1. Throughout the event, all participants are challenged mentally and physically in critical areas of emphasis encompassing individual combat skills and doctrinal knowledge.
