(March 12, 2026) Hospitalman Karina Saldivar, assigned to Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command (NMRTC) Pensacola, practices endotracheal intubation by inserting an intubation tube in a training manikin’s trachea during an Advanced Life Support (ALS) class at Naval Hospital Pensacola (NHP) on March 12, 2026. Endotracheal intubation is a procedure taught in ALS class at NHP that involves inserting a tube into the trachea to maintain an open air way and oxygen is delivered via a ventilator ensuring a casualty can receive oxygen which allows for operational and medical readiness by enabling life-stabilization in combat and clinical environments.
