James Day, assigned to the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Fort Lauderdale (LPD 28), receives his surface warfare officer pin from Capt. Jiwan Mack, commanding officer of Fort Lauderdale, in the wardroom. Fort Lauderdale is underway with the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group on their scheduled deployment in the U.S. Fourth Fleet area of responsibility.
