Connecticut Army National Guard soldiers assist a U.S. Coast Guard recovery team remove sand from around a beached navigational buoy that washed up on the shores of Nantucket, Massachusetts, Sept. 8, 2025. Once the area around the buoy was cleared, a sling was attached, enabling a Connecticut Army National Guard CH-47F Chinook helicopter to lift the approximately 13,000-lb. buoy off the beach and back out to sea where it was recovered by the U.S. Coast Guard.
